Home Birth Midwifery

Carly Ann is currently partnered with HMBirth to offer home birth midwifery services in the Chicagoland area.

  • Just like any other provider, except we provide all your prenatal care in the comfort of your own home. 30-90 minute visits. Includes lab work at visits. Ultrasounds referrals as needed.

    Visits are

    • Once per month until 28 weeks

    • Every 2 weeks until 36 weeks

    • Weekly from 37-40 weeks

    • Bi-weekly from 40 weeks onward

    • phone and email check ins as needed

  • We are on call for your birth starting at 37 weeks gestation, and available by phone 24/7 before that. We are in contact through early labor or whenever needed, and typically join you in active labor. The team consists of two midwives and an assistant.

    We bring everything needed to monitor you and baby’s wellbeing, emergency equipment, medications, oxygen tank, suturing equipment, and everything else all while maintaining a peaceful, calm environment.

    Many clients will choose to work with a doula, have family support, and utilize a birth tub. Our care is about the experience that feels best to you.

  • We stay 2-3 hours after each birth, longer if needed, to make sure parent and baby are in stable condition. We remain available by phone after birth 24/7. We recommend baby establish care with a pediatrician by day 3-5 of life.

    Our comprehensive postpartum visits include vitals check up on the birthing person and baby, feeding support, appropriate referrals, and support for partners/loved ones.

    Schedule:

    • 24-48 hours postpartum Home Visit: Includes newborn PKU test & Congenital Heart Defect Screening.

    • 1-2 week postpartum home visit

    • 6 week postpartum home visit- pap offered
